KINGSFORD – The Kingsford Flivvers battled Marquette to a draw for 75 minutes before the Sentinels scored back-to-back goals to break the stalemate en route to a 4-3 victory over the Flivvers Tuesday in Marquette.

With three minutes remaining, Kingsford pulled within one on a goal by Gavin Kinsella off a pass from Jonah Nelson, but the Flivvers were unable to regain the draw.

“It was a hard-fought game,” Kingsford coach Zach Celello said. “Although we were disappointed with the result, it showed us that we have the ability to stand toe-to-toe with quality opponents like Marquette.”

The Flivvers (3-2) opened the scoring when Jett Buckley disposed a Marquette defender and scored an unassisted tally for a 1-0 lead six minutes into the contest.
