Police are appealing for witnesses after a pedestrian died after being hit by a lorry on the M8 yesterday. ‌

Officers received a report of a man injured on the M8 eastbound, around half a mile east of junction 6 near Newhouse, North Lanarkshire at around 12.40pm on Thursday, August, 28. ‌

It is understood he had been walking along the motorway. ‌

Emergency services flooded the scene and the 52-year-old was pronounced dead at the scene. His family has been made aware.
