Boyle Heights -- One person was killed after falling from an overpass on the 10 Freeway this morning, according to authorities.
A caller to the California Highway Patrol reported that a person was lying in the westbound slow lane of the freeway near Cesar Chavez Avenue overpass at 8:39 p.m. The person was declared dead at the scene, according to a CHP official.
Preliminary reports indicated that the person may have jumped, according to the L.A. Fire Department .
There was no information available on the age or gender of the person.
Lane closures backed up traffic for miles during the morning rush hour, according to Fox11 .
The fatality comes two days after a woman died on the Arroyo Seco Parkway in Highland Park when she fell off the Avenue 60 overpass.
