WALNUT GROVE, Mo. (KY3) - One person died in a crash in Walnut Grove Thursday evening.

According to the Missouri State Highway Patrol , a man from Walnut Grove died in a crash while trying to pass an SUV on State Highway 123 at Washington Street.

Around 4:45 p.m., investigators said the 55-year-old swerved to avoid an oncoming van while passing, but he hit both vehicles.

The van’s driver and a 13-year-old passenger were both taken to a Springfield hospital with moderate injuries. No one in the SUV was hurt.
