UNIVERSITY PARK, Ill. (WLS) -- Metra Electric service will continue to be impacted Friday morning after a fire at a Metra substation.

Metra said the fire happened at the University Park substation Thursday afternoon.

As a result, all Metra Electric trains will continue to originate and terminate at the Matteson Station due to the power problems impacting the Richton Park and University Park stations.

Metra also said Metra Electric Line riders should expect some trains will be annulled during the morning rush service.

Metra said they and ComEd are working to restore power to the substation.
