Thursday’s slate of games in Week 2 of the AHSAA football season came with its share of upsets and lopsided victories.

Benjamin Russell knocked off Class 5A No. 3 Central-Clay County in a blowout win, while Class 7A No. 7 Vestavia Hills rolled past No. 3-ranked Auburn High in dominant fashion.
