MICHIGAN DEPARTMENT OF HEALTH AND HEALTH SERVICES

The Michigan Department of Health and Human Services (MDHHS) has recorded a sustained decrease in infectious syphilis diagnoses in Michigan residents over the past three years, representing a 29 per cent decline in reported cases overall since 2021. These downward trends are also seen through the first half of 2025, with Wayne, Oakland and Macomb counties experiencing the most significant declines in syphilis rates.
