Richard Osman is always interested in a new case.

Osman, 54, who penned his debut novel The Thursday Murder Club in 2020, sees the instant bestseller hit the screen as a Netflix movie that drops on Aug. 28. In the film, Helen Mirren , Pierce Brosnan , Ben Kingsley and Celia Imrie , play a quartet of friends in a U.K. retirement home who solve cold-case murders in their spare time.
