One year after a crash that killed a hockey star and his brother off a South Jersey roadway, a judge is nearing a key decision about a potential trial for the driver charged in the case.

The motorist, 44-year-old Sean Higgins, has asked for statements that he made to police after the deaths of Johnny and Matthew Gaudreau to be barred from evidence.
