Plans for a high-rise viewing tower, built to market ocean-view apartments in City Beach, are back before council despite strong opposition from neighbours.

The Town of Cambridge will revisit an application at its council meeting next week for a temporary viewing platform at 3 Kilpa Court.

The platform, located at the former Ocean Village Shopping Precinct, will give potential buyers a chance to see what the views look like from the first to seventh level of the 23-storey apartment block slated for the site.

It comes after councillors refused the platform in May following a backlash from locals who labelled it intrusive, unnecessary and out of character with the coastal suburb.
