Princeton Public Library was the victim of a swatting hoax on Thursday, Aug. 28, authorities said.
Officers responded to the library at 65 Witherspoon St. for a report of a person with a gun, Princeton police said. Officers searched the area, did not locate anyone and confirmed the report was not credible and a hoax, police said.
"These incidents are disruptive, create unnecessary fear, and divert critical public safety resources away from genuine emergencies," Princeton police said.
