A delivery driver has been jailed for a £235,000 benefit fraud he carried out with his wife. Over the same 11-year period that the pair swindled the DWP and local council, husband Paul Churchman earned £403,000 as a self-employed courier for Evri.
As part of the scam, he even managed to successfully claim the disability benefit PIP after lying to the DWP that his wife had to prepare his meals because a bad back meant he couldn't bend over to get pots and pans out of the cupboard, needed help going to the toilet and getting out of the bath, and couldn't walk more than 20 metres.
The fraudster, who has 11 previous convictions for 27 offences, was jailed for three years at Maidstone Crown Court after saying he took full responsibility for the couple's actions. His wife Gemma Churchman bro
