BAY RIDGE/DYKER HEIGHTS — A CITYWIDE REPLACEMENT OF AUTOMATED METER READING DEVICES will soon begin, with property owners in zip codes 11204, 11209 and 11228 getting their turns first. This project is part of the city’s Department of Environmental Protection’s three-year initiative to upgrade more than 600,000 AMRs throughout the five boroughs.
The DEP explained in an announcement on Community Board 11’s newsletter that Automatic Meter Reading devices transmit data on a property’s water usage, helping this agency and reduce estimated bills and improve leak detection for its customers.
