Before she was nominated as a Federal Reserve governor, Michigan’s Lisa Cook signed two separate mortgage documents two weeks apart that identify her Ann Arbor home and her Atlanta condominium each as her primary residence — documents at the heart of President Donald Trump’s firing of her.
The relevant paragraphs in each document are identical, pledging that she’d live in the home for a year as her principal residence unless the lender “otherwise agreed in writing” or if “extenuating circumstances” arose beyond her control, according to mortgage records obtained by The Detroit News.
