Senior amateur golf tournament winners announced

Paul Giersz, of Glendale Heights, was the 2025 Glen Ekey Senior Amateur Champion after finishing with a gross score of 142, Naperville Park District officials said.

The annual golf event for golfers 55 and older was held Aug. 20 and 21 at the Springbrook and Naperbrook golf courses.

The tournament split the 110 golfers in two divisions. Golfers age 55 to 69 years old participated in the senior division while golfers 70 and older competed in the legends division.

Each division named a champion based on their gross score, or total strokes taken, and their net score, which is adjusted by the player’s handicap.

Giersz was the gross champion in the senior division. The net champion of the senior division was Raghu Ramanathan from Naperville,
