GREENVILLE, N.C. (WITN) - Firefighters in Greenville are battling a house fire this afternoon that has closed part of a street.

Crews were called to the 1600 block of South Elm Street shortly after 12:30 p.m.

Heavy smoke was seen coming out of the roof of the home, while firefighters cut a hole in the roof.

Greenville Fire/Rescue says there were no injuries, and it appears that the fire started in the attic.

No one was at home when the fire broke out.

One side of Elm Street is closed because of the fire.
