FORT MILL, S.C. (WBTV) - Fort Mill police launched an investigation after a man was found shot dead at a park.

Officers said they were called out around 10:34 p.m. on Thursday, Aug. 28, to Steele Street Park for reports of gunfire. When they got to the park, they found Johnny Wayne Martin Cook, 21, unresponsive.

Cook died at the scene.

Police said they had not identified a threat to the community, but the investigation was still active as of Friday afternoon.
