The suspect in the 2021 shooting death of 64-year-old man in Irondale is back in Alabama after being convicted of two separate murders in North Carolina.
Alfred Louis Logan Jr., 45, was booked into the Jefferson County Jail Wednesday on a 2022 indictment charging him with capital murder in the killing during a carjacking of David Michael Hammons.
The indictment against Logan was made public Thursday once he was in custody of Alabama authorities.
Hammons was shot to death Dec. 8, 2021, during a carjacking in Irondale and died five days later.
Police said Hammons was in his vehicle in the parking lot of a now-closed Burger King on U.S. 11 in Trussville on Wednesday, Dec. 8, 2021, when Logan and his girlfriend, Lindsey Nicole Calton, 37, tried to carjack him.
