A 26-year-old man from Cornwall was arrested on Aug. 29 and charged with two counts of assault with a weapon, aggravated assault, and possession of a weapon for a dangerous purpose.

On Aug. 27, Cornwall police were dispatched to an incident reported by Cornwall Fire Services and an investigation ensued. Police alleged on Aug. 25, the man assaulted an individual known to him by striking her in the face with an object and the man assaulted another acquaintance by stabbing him with an edged weapon.

In the early morning hours of Aug. 29, police responded to an unwanted-person complaint. The man was located and taken into custody, where he was held pending a bail hearing in Cornwall court.
