CHARLOTTE, N.C. (WBTV) - The (potentially) radioactive shrimp aren’t just from Walmart, according to new reports. More retailers are recalling the bags of shrimp across several states, now including South Carolina.
At least two other companies are recalling packages of shrimp after finding they could contain radioactive contamination, federal notices said.
AquaStar USA Corp. announced on Thursday, Aug. 28, that in addition to select bags of shrimp sold in Walmart stores across the country, they also recalled around 18,000 bags of Kroger-branded shrimp sold in South Carolina and 16 other states between July 24-Aug. 11, 2015.
Those bags, labeled as Kroger Mercado Cooked Medium Peeled Tail-Off Shrimp in the 2-pound quantity, had the following codes:
