ALBANY, N.Y. (NEWS10) -- A man was sentenced in Albany County Court for sexually assaulting and beating a woman in her home. Richard Roark, 58, faces two years in prison after pleading guilty to third-degree aggravated sexual abuse.

The Albany County District Attorney's Office said Roark was staying with the victim in her Cohoes home when he attacked her on July 31, 2024, beating and sexually assaulting her while threatening to kill her with a knife if she didn't keep quiet.

The victim had a black eye and brain bleeding, per the DA. She told the courtroom that she has post-traumatic stress disorder from the attack.
