SALT LAKE CITY — When it comes to catching a flight out of Salt Lake City International Airport, the price might just surprise you in a good way.

Travel website, Going, shared its data showing that Salt Lake Int’l Airport is the nation’s best value airport for flight deals. Average deal prices come in around $146, which Going says is 45% off normal prices.

That’s cheaper than flights out of Tampa and even Atlanta’s massive airport, which rounded out the top three.

“Salt Lake City reigns supreme,” Going’s Katy Nastro said.

It’s a bit of a juxtaposition from what the KSL investigators found. Last year, Delta passengers flying out of Salt Lake City often paid more for the exact same flight than travelers whose trip only passed through Salt Lake City as a layover.
