Nick Saban has unique perspective on Alabama’s new starting quarterback.

Saban recruited Ty Simpson, and he spent two seasons with him. So when Saban had a chance to comment on Simpson while appearing on the Pat McAfee show Friday , the former Alabama coach had added expertise.

“I think Ty is a great young man who has, and I have all the respect in the world for these guys who stay in the program for three years, develop, wait their turn, and I think that’s the thing Ty has done extremely well,” Saban said.

So, how does Simpson make the most of the opportunity? Saban emphasized the importance of not becoming outcome oriented, which can mean looking at results such as passes completed, touchdowns, etc.
