LOS ANGELES (KABC) -- A man who led police on a multi-county chase across Southern California allegedly tried to kidnap his partner and her child.
The Los Angeles Police Department reported the alleged kidnapping Thursday night after the suspect wouldn't let his partner and the child leave their home.
The suspect was later found by police in Newport Beach, triggering a chase that made its way into L.A. County. At one point, the California Highway Patrol joined in and chased him on the 101 Freeway before he bailed from the car in the Boyle Heights area around 1:30 a.m. Friday.
He ran away on foot, but officers tracked him down at a home and arrested him for kidnapping and evading police.
Details about the suspect's partner and the child were not available.
