WASHINGTON (Reuters) -The White House intends to appoint a Republican and a Democratic member to the Surface Transportation Board railroad regulator, a MSNBC reporter said on X on Friday.

This comes after the White House said on Thursday that it had fired Surface Transportation Board member Robert Primus.
