A dog named Willow was running out of strength while she was lying in a ditch by the side of a road curled up in a ball.

The pup was in pretty bad shape. She suffered sunburns, and she had no fur on her body except for a few strands on her face.

Too weak to roam the streets and plead for help, Willow hoped for a miracle.

With her heart heavy with sadness, the pooch looked in the distance, hoping that someone would notice her and show her compassion.

When the local officers of Louise County, in Iowa, discovered Willow, they jumped to her aid and rushed her to an animal rescue called It Takes A Village .

Karen Hartman, a foster coordinator at the rescue, was in disbelief when she saw Willow for the first time.
