The Tampa Bay Buccaneers waived the undrafted rookie safety earlier this week, and he passed through waivers unclaimed and is currently a free agent. Sanders has recently posted on Instagram, stating that music, acting, or modeling may be what the future holds for him.
“I’ll be talking to my agent and we’re waiting on the next opportunity," Sanders said. "If that’s in the NFL, cool, but God has blessed me with a lot of talent to do things other than football."
Sanders got into a scuffle with Bills tight end Zach Davidson, and Sanders threw a punch that got him ejected. Many thought that this may be the culprit that led to his release, but a less-than-stellar preseason with only 4 total tackles wouldn't help his case. Sanders is grateful for the opportunity the Buccaneers have given him this preseason, after being projected as a 5th-round draft pick who wasn't chosen.
“Thank you to the Buccaneers for even giving me this opportunity,” he said. “You all saw how the draft went. I’m lucky to even get a shot. Seeing how Shedeur went, I knew what was going to happen to me, being undrafted... It was a great experience for me, and I’m forever grateful for that... I’m just staying in shape, staying ready for the next opportunity, and we’ll be ready for anything.”
