ETTER — Community leaders, rail officials and business partners gathered Thursday, Aug. 28 in Moore County to celebrate the completion of an $8.2 million rail infrastructure project that officials say will boost safety, efficiency and economic growth across the Texas Panhandle.
The Texas North Western Railway Company (TXNW), a subsidiary of Dallas-based TNW Corporation, unveiled upgrades to its interchange with BNSF Railway near Etter, a critical link where local freight is handed off to the national rail network. The project was funded in part by a $4.1 million federal grant through the Consolidated Rail Infrastructure and Safety Improvements (CRISI) program, matched by TXNW and its partners.
