ALLIANCE, Neb. (KNOP) - A teenager was arrested Friday morning after Alliance Police say he attempted to burglarize a house and stole items from a nearby vehicle, including a handgun.
According to Alliance Police, officers responded to a report of an attempted burglary at a home located near 10th Street and Toluca Avenue at 4 a.m.
Upon arrival, officers observed a broken window adjacent to the side entry door, and it appeared the suspect had broken the window to gain access to the door lock but did not enter the residence. Police said that while canvassing the area, officers located a juvenile suspect lying in the grass nearby.
The suspect was unarmed at the time of arrest but a loaded magazine for a Taurus handgun was found in his possession, officers said.
