ORANGEBURG, S.C. - A man is now facing more serious charges in connection with a crash that killed a South Carolina state trooper earlier this month.

Orangeburg County Sheriff Leroy Ravenell announced Friday that 45-year-old Anthony Aydlette, of Hanahan, is now charged with reckless homicide.

For Labor Day weekend, here’s what drivers need to know

Georgia and South Carolina authorities are expecting a jump in traffic during Labor Day weekends, but drivers will be dealing with lower gas prices.

That charge was filed in addition to a charge of driving under suspension in connection with the early-morning crash on Aug. 10 in which Trooper First Class Dennis Ricks, 30, was struck by a box truck that investigators say Aydlette was driving.

Ricks died three days after the wreck.
