AMARILLO, Texas (KAMR/KCIT) — Fermi America, the largest private grid designed to power the demands of artificial intelligence, in partnership with the Texas Tech University system, has named former Amarillo Mayor Trent Sisemore as Fermi's Community Lead.
Fermi America was co-founded by former Texas Governor and U.S. Secretary of Energy, Rick Perry, and the co-founder and co-managing Partner of Quantum Energy Partners, Toby Neugebauer. Officials stated that Fermi plans to deliver up to 11 gigawatts of highly redundant power and 15 million square feet of artificial intelligence capacity by the end of 2026, and for every year for a decade.
