A walker has tragically died while climbing down from Tryfan in Eyri national park in Snowdonia .

The incident happened on Saturday, August 23, near Llyn Bochlwyd, a small lake above Llyn Ogwen in the Glyderau mountain range.

According to North Wales Live , the person had suffered a cardiac arrest during their descent.

Despite the best efforts of other walkers and a mountain rescue team, they couldn’t be revived.

It was the 129th call-out of the year for volunteers from the Ogwen Valley Mountain Rescue Organisation (OVMRO).

It was their sixth visit to the Tryfan area this month.

In a statement, the team said: "Despite the efforts of the team and other walkers, the casualty didn’t survive, and they were recovered from the mountain.
