THE MLB star brother of Billie Jean King has died.
Randy Moffitt, a long-time MLB reliever, has died while the US Open is underway.
Moffitt died on Thursday in Long Beach, California, according to a family representative.
He was 76 years old.
Moffitt was suffering from an extended illness that he eventually succumbed to.
He is survived by two daughters, four grandchildren, and King and her wife, Ilana Kloss.
Moffitt pitched for 12 seasons in Major league baseball.
He was drafted by the San Francisco Giants in 1970 in the first round.
Moffitt made his debut in 1972.
He played 10 seasons with the Giants before joining the Houston Astros and Toronto Blue Jays for one season each.
Moffitt pitched 534 games in the majors and went 43-52 with 96 saves and a 3.65 ERA.
