UNADILLA TOWNSHIP, Mich. (WILX) - An Ohio man was seriously hurt on Thursday after his single-engine plane crashed in Livingston County.

The pilot was flying from Charlevoix when he crashed in Unadilla Township just before 4 p.m. on Thursday.

Police were alerted to the crash via an iPhone crash notification and calls from nearby residents.

Police say the pilot, a Toledo man, was found outside the plane with significant injuries.

The man was taken to the hospital. The crash is still under investigation by local police, the FAA and the National Transportation Safety Board.

The pilot’s current condition is unknown.
