PHOENIX (AZFamily) — Forty-four attorneys general, including Arizona’s Kris Mayes, are sounding the alarm about artificial intelligence companions, warning of potentially dangerous and “predatory” interactions with the technology.
In a letter sent to tech giants, including Anthropic, Apple, Chai AI, Google, Luka Inc., Meta, Microsoft, Nomi AI, OpenAI, Perplexity AI, Replika, and xAI, the group highlighted internal Meta documents, which show the company allowed AI assistants to “flirt and engage in romantic roleplay with children” as young as eight years old.
