ROCHESTER, N.Y. (WROC) — Payroll issues continue to frustrate employees within the Rochester City School District, prompting some school board members to request a state audit of the district.

A public board meeting was held Thursday night to address ongoing payroll concerns, with much of the meeting spent in executive session.

Adam Urbanski, president of the Rochester Teachers Association, cited the transition between payroll platforms as the source of the payroll problems.

The audit request describes the transition between the old software and the new Oracle Fusion program as "a financially irresponsible endeavor."

The transition to the new payroll system in 2021 was supported by funds from the American Rescue Plan and the Coronavirus Response Relief Supplemental Appropriations Act.
