WICHITA, Kan. (KSNW) — Drivers in Wichita should plan for overnight lane and ramp closures on I-235 as Evergy begins transmission line work on Tuesday, Sept. 3.

The project is tied to upgrades at the Hoover Substation north of Kellogg. Evergy says the improvements will support growing demand and strengthen electric service reliability in the Wichita area.

Traffic control will begin around 10 p.m. Sept. 3 and continue until about 6 a.m. Sept. 4. Closures will include: • Right lanes on both northbound and southbound I-235 • Ramp from westbound Kellogg to northbound I-235 reduced to one lane • Ramp from northbound I-235 to Kellogg reduced to one lane • Southbound I-235 Central ramp to southbound I-235 closed
