NASHVILLE, Tenn. (WSMV) - The founder of The Cupcake Collection said, “New Orleans should be felt in every one of our flavors.”

Mignon Francois is the founder and a New Orleans native. She opened the doors to her cupcake shop in 2008 but she moved into the Nashville home (that is now the store) in 2005. The same year Hurricane Katrina devastated New Orleans.

After Katrina, her dad stayed with her and her family here in Nashville.

“My father, who was a contractor got the freedom of his calendar to be able to come and work on his little girl’s house and that’s what you see in our heritage being reflected in the dental moldings that are around the building,” Francois said.
