MT. JULIET, Tenn. (WKRN) — A Mt. Juliet road is getting a facelift after years of complaints about safety.
The very early stages of construction began along Old Lebanon Dirt Road on Friday, Aug. 29.
"If you've driven it either way, you know that there are tight curves, there's no shoulder; it's just really dangerous, especially for young drivers that might not be familiar with the roads," Justin Beasley, Mt. Juliet's public information officer, said.
According to Beasley, the goal of the project is to create a shoulder along the road and add a 10-foot, 2-mile trail for walkers and bikers.
"Storm water and sanitary sewer will also be components of this," Beasley added.
All of this is expected to address safety concerns.
"We will vastly improve this, and we should see a decrease in fat
