CARTHAGE, Ill. (WGEM) - As the new school year gets underway, with it, more opportunities arise for students at Carthage Middle School.
Starting this year, CMS is offering students a number of different elective courses, including Spanish, life skills, computer science and keyboarding, and “STEAM.”
This summer, school officials began discussions with Memorial Hospital to form a collaborative agreement. This allows for health experts to be utilized by CMS for certain elective lessons.
Memorial CEO Ada Bair said this is the first time the hospital has partnered with a school district like this.
