DALLAS — Three Dallas pools are first up on the chopping block as city officials consider the future of aging community pools amid budget constraints , per officials.

The Dallas Park and Recreation Board last week recommended that three pools -- Grauwyler, Walnut Hill and Glendale -- be the top candidates for closure for the upcoming fiscal year as city officials consider potentially phasing out its aging pools over the coming years. The news comes as the Dallas Park and Recreation Department faces its first budget reduction in five years.

The Grauwyler pool in the 2100 block of Anson Road, which dates back to 1947, had an average daily attendance of nearly 60 in 2025, according to the city. The Glendale pool in the 1500 block of Five Mile Drive in Dallas, which dates back to 1949, h
