GALLIA COUNTY, Ohio (WSAZ) - Friends and family are remembering an 18-year-old who died as the result of a car crash.

Christopher “Howie” Wilks was going into his senior year at Boyd County High School when he died following the crash. It happened on Saturday at the intersection of Whites Creek Road and Friendship Road in Boyd County, Kentucky.

Zach Smith was a close friend of Howie and fished together all the time.

“We’re used to Howie being by our side. On the lake, on the pond, on the boat, on the river, wherever we’re at. And it’s going to be a huge empty space without him there,” Smith said.
