STATEWIDE -- Today, the state Fire Marshal's Office welcomed Joel Davis as its new assistant state fire marshal in charge of investigations.

His title will be deputy chief.

According to the Fire Marshal's Office, Deputy Chief Davis brings a lifetime of experience to the role.

During his career, Davis has served as a police officer, firefighter, EMT, deputy sheriff, forest ranger, and a local fire chief.

Davis also served in the fire marshal's office for over 20 years, from 1998 to 2021. He is regarded as one of the most respected fire investigators on the East Coast.
