KANSAS CITY, Mo. —
Landmark Dodge has agreed to overhaul its hiring practices and settle a federal lawsuit from the Equal Employment Opportunity Commission (EEOC) for $275,000.
The EEOC’s case questioned the hiring practices of Landmark Dodge from 2017-2019, saying the dealership refused to hire women for sales roles and men for office jobs. Advertisement
During the lawsuit, the EEOC identified more than a dozen women and men Landmark Dodge refused to hire because of their sex.
The EEOC claimed the dealership also retaliated against two human resources professionals who did not agree with the practices.
Janette Barron and Jacqueline Robinett both told KMBC 9 Investigates they are grateful to see change within the dealership.
