PESHTIGO, Wis. (WMTV) - One person is dead after police shot and killed them following a chase in Marinette County. The chase began after law enforcement found a vehicle connected to a suspicious death investigation in Dane County on Friday, the Department of Justice reported.
According to the DOJ, an officer found the vehicle in Peshtigo, just before 9:15 a.m., and attempted to pull it over. The vehicle sped away and several law enforcement officers chased after the vehicle along US Highway 41 southbound.
The vehicle ended up crashing and came to a stop near the intersection of US Highway 41 northbound and Schacht Road.
Officials said the driver of the vehicle got out of the car and approached officers.
A law enforcement officer with the Marinette County Sheriff’s Office used a taser.
