MADISON (WKOW) — A man was arrested Thursday morning after barricading himself in a bathroom stall at a park on South Ingersoll Street.

Madison police responded after park rangers reported the disturbance.

The man, identified as David Atkinson, 44, refused to come out and became aggressive with the officers, according to the police report .

Officers used a taser to subdue Atkinson, but he continued to threaten and swing at them. Eventually, police used pepper spray, allowing them to take Atkinson into custody without injury to the officers.

Atkinson was arrested for disorderly conduct, obstruction, resisting, threats to law enforcement and felony bail jumping.

He was taken to the Dane County Jail.
