FILER — Admission to this year’s Twin Falls County Fair might include a free line-dance lesson.
Instructors from Hayloft Hall on Friday brought awareness to the type of dance that surged in popularity decades ago due to Billy Ray Cyrus’s “Achy Breaky Heart” and the movie “Urban Cowboy.”
Turnout was slim, but Bill Scott was all smiles — albeit a little sweaty — dancing to the songs of “Fireball” by Pitbull and “Flex” by Cupid.
“I think it’s great,” said Scott, who has been line dancing for 35 years. “I learned two new dances.”
There could be better surfaces than grass for dancing, he said, as his wife, Nina Scott, declined the opportunity to take part on account of her knees.
“Sometimes my knees don’t work on this grass,” she explained.
