STATEN ISLAND, N.Y. — While some may take the time this Labor Day weekend to simply enjoy the end of summer in their yards, others will flood the streets and partake in one of New York City’s many events this holiday.

One such event is the 41st Annual Brazilian Day Festival, which will close select streets in Manhattan on Sunday. Then, on Monday, several Brooklyn roadways will be restricted to allow for the J’Ouvert and West Indian American Day Parade and Festival.

Given the various festivities, anyone looking to navigate city streets this weekend will want to plan accordingly.

As noted in an advisory from the NYPD, the closures will be at the discretion of the NYPD.
