ATHENS, Ga. - The University of Georgia is asking everyone to stay away from the area of the main library on their campus in Athens.

What we know:

A police alert was sent at 8:51 p.m.

According to the message posted on their website, they received a report of an "armed shooter."

They also asked the public not to call their emergency numbers for more information.

The main library is located in the 300 block of S. Jackson Street.

What we don't know:
