Education leaders from the Lompoc Unified School District and Hancock College addressed the community at a bilingual town hall last week, tackling concerns about student achievement, equity, and access to resources in a forum that drew both parents and educators.
The event, held Aug. 21 at the DeWees Community and Senior Center, was moderated by AAUW Lompoc-Vandenberg branch president Dinah Perez Lockhart and Hancock College graduate Carmen Martinez, and hosted by LUSD and the American Association of University Women Lompoc-Vandenberg Branch. It offered live interpretation in Spanish and Mixteco, sponsored by the Fund for Santa Barbara and school district.
